Clarkson Gallery

This community in southwest Toronto Township gets its name from one of its first settlers, Warren Clarkson, who arrived in the township in 1808 and remained there till his death in 1882. It was first referred to as Clarkson's Corners and boasted a general store and post office, run by the Clarkson family. Clarkson was renowned for its fruit growing, particularly apples and strawberries, and was considered the strawberry capital of Ontario. It contains many heritage buildings including Benares Historic House and the Bradley Museum.
