Description: Dr. Marshall Sutton was born in Clandeboye, Middlesex County in 1851. After he graduated from the University of Toronto in 1878, he practised medicine in the United States before returning to Canada and setting up a practice in Cooksville in 1893. Dr Sutton was Township Medical Officer for many years, as well as Coroner for Peel County. He worked with Dr. Beaumont Dixie in setting up effective public health measures. He had two sons, both doctors. Dr. Harold Chester Sutton practised in Cooksville, from 1922, and Dr. Arthur Bennett Sutton practised in Port Credit from 1904. |
