Emergency Preparedness Week

Emergency Preparedness Week is a Canada-wide initiative to increase awareness about individual and family preparedness emphasizing how the public can reduce the risks and consequences of an emergency by being better prepared. An emergency situation can happen anywhere and anytime. We all need to be prepared to deal with these events at the personal, community, provincial/territorial and federal government levels. Emergency preparedness is a shared responsibility and it is up to each and every Canadian to learn what to do before, during and after an emergency situation.This year Emergency Preparedness week runs from May 6th through the 12th. At all city libraries there were will be informational displays where citizens can pick up information on how they can be prepared. On Saturday May 12th our annual Community Event will be held at Erin Mills Town Centre. Citizens will be able to not only pick up information but will also have the opportunity to talk to our emergency partners as to how all of us work together when crisis happened.

Event Date(s):
May 6, 2012 - May 12, 2012
