Greening Our Fleet
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

Is the City considering using alternative fuels?
Answer
The City is reviewing the use of bio-diesel fuels at a B5 grade at all of its fuelling depots. B5 means a blend of 5 per cent bio-fuel and 95 per cent regular diesel. Even at a B5 grade, several tonnes of emissions could be reduced, given the volume of fuel City buses and other vehicles use annually. Major vehicle manufacturers consider B5 acceptable for warranty purposes.
