Marina at 1 Port Street East

You told us that a future sustainable marina at the 1 Port Street East site is a key priority.

As a first step in protecting for a sustainable marina, we want to understand the future of boating in Mississauga. The City of Mississauga has retained Touristics to conduct a Recreational Boating Demand and Capacity Study. This study will look at:

  • the existing supply of boating facilities in Mississauga;
  • the projected number of future recreational boaters in Mississauga; and
  • the future need for facilities in the city (existing or new).

This study will also help us to understand the area needed for the future marina at 1 Port Street East site and other recreational boating facilities.

After the study is completed, a Business Case will be developed to inform a sustainable and viable future marina at 1 Port Street East. The City of Mississauga has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Canada Lands Company (CLC) to complete this work under the City's direction and management at CLC's cost. The business case will detail and provide evaluations of uses, site layout, operation and ownership options for a marina. This work will guide the City's Inspiration Port Credit master plan, future land use policy framework and implementation plan for a future marina at 1 Port Street East. Touristics is leading this work along with Shoreplan Engineering and The Planning Partnership for the City.
