The MISSISSAUGA ANIMAL SERVICES would like to thank a group of wonderful young
ladies RACHEL, LYLA, MARINA, and STEPHANIE for their gracious donation of $ 75.00 to
our S.C.A.R.F Fund. Throughout the fall they worked in their neighbourhood raking leaves
to gather money for the homeless animals of their city. Thank You Ladies !
Our donation program is a new and exciting program designed to help the animals in our care.
We are able to buy better cages, medications, fund our foster care program and provide extra
veterinary care for animals that may otherwise be euthanised. In the future, we hope to be able
to build a new and improved cattery which would allow cats in our care room to exercise,
stretch and play. For more information about our donation program, please contact our office at
HISTORY OF FUND
The Fund was initiated by Mississauga Animal Services Staff to utilize our donated funds and
monies raised through our Pet Fair. The fund idea was approved and became official during late
1997. The Fund was officially named the S.C.A.R.F. Fund in 1998. S.C.A.R.F. is an acronym for
"The Special Care for Animals and Resources Fund". The word itself was meant to
represent a scarf that may wrap around something symbolizing special care and protection. The
name was chosen by a staff vote after submissions were made to officially name the Fund.
