Description: A view of the shoreline of A. E. Crookes Park, 855 Goodwin Road. The park was originally a 6 acre neighbourhood sports facility. It was named after Albert Crookes, a local businessman and community volunteer. In 1971 the firm of Crysler & Lathem, consulting engineers, was retained by the Credit Valley Conservation Authority to prepare a plan for the development of the Mississauga waterfront sector of the Metropolitan Toronto Planning Area. A. E. Crookes Park was one of the areas they covered. Note steam rising from the lake, as a result of heated water discharged from the Lakeview Generating Station.
