Description: An aerial view of the area west of Stoney Bay Park. In 1971 the firm of Crysler & Lathem, consulting engineers, was retained by the Credit Valley Conservation Authority to prepare a plan for the development of the Mississauga waterfront sector of the Metropolitan Toronto Planning Area. Stoney Bay Park was one of the areas they covered. The park was renamed Richard's Memorial Park in June 1973, named after Richard Wolzniewicz, a 14 year old boy who died in an accident and whose heart was given to Mayor Robert Speck who underwent a heart transplant operation.
