The City reviews and approves site plans so that new homes and renovations in some areas of the City fit into the character of the neighbourhood. If your project is in an area that requires a site plan, your site plan must be approved before you can start work.
These checklists will help you provide all the information City staff need to review your site plan application.
City staff review site plans for:
the size of the home, compared to other homes in the neighbourhood
where the home is located on the property
landscaping and trees on the property and the street
driveways and other hard surfaces, and
the slope of the property, or the ‘grading’.
Please review the checklists with any architects, designers, contractors and landscape architects working on your project. Providing all the information included on these checklists will help make sure your project is reviewed quickly. If you have any questions about your site plan approval, you can call (905) 896-5511 and ask to speak to a Site Plan Technologist – we're here to help!
The City is implementing this Infill Residential Drawings Checklist as a new initiative to assist in the Site Plan Application Process. We welcome your feedback on how easy it is to use and to understand. You can e-mail your comments to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include Comments on Infill Residential Drawings Checklist in the subject line.
