The City conducts an annual update of existing land use. The data presented were compiled
from a combination of building permit issuances, Mississauga Plan designations, zoning,
development applications, aerial photos and site checks, in the Fall of 2011.
The 2012 Existing Land Use is comprised of three open data components:
1. An Existing Land Use Profile Poster that includes an overview and map of the existsing
land use in the City of Mississauga, available in PDF format.
2. Summary statistics that include the existing land use by City Structure Type and
Geographic Area, available in XLS and CSV format.
3. A KMZ file that displays the existing land use, by type. The KMZ file can be loaded
into various Mapping/GIS packages (such as Google Earth, ESRI ArcExplorer, etc) for viewing,
printing or analysis.

Please note, the northern part of Braeben Golf Course was coded incorrectly. The brochure
map reflects the correct land use; however the summary statistics, KMZ map, and data tables do
not. This change represents approximately 43 hectares of additional Open Space / Greenbelt
land, and 43 hectares less Utility / Public Works space.
