Storm Water Drainage

Unlike the water from our sinks and toilets which goes to a sewage treatment plant through the Region of Peel's sanitary sewer system, what we put down our catchbasins or storm sewers runs directly into a creek or river, then into Lake Ontario. The City's storm sewer system is monitored and maintained by the Transportation and Works Department. It's important that we do all we can to keep our catchbasins, watercourses and Lake Ontario clean. After all, we receive our drinking water from Lake Ontario through a water purification plant.

If you are having a problem with storm sewer drainage, please call 905-615-3000.

If you are having a problem with sanitary sewer blockages or backups, please call the Region of Peel at 905-791-7800.
