Description: An undated photograph of Queen Street South in Streetsville. Queen Street is the main core of the community and retains the distinct scale and character of a rural farming town. New developments continue to respect the scale of shop fronts along the main portion of Queen Street South, and the residential character of large lots with mature trees is typified in the south-end transitional approach to the Village. The north end of the Village is also characterized by a residential and commercial mix found in many small towns throughout Ontario. There are over ninety heritage properties listed, many of which are designated. Streetsville is recognized as a significant cultural landscape because it retains a portfolio of heritage buildings of a consistent scale and portrays a period landscape of a small village. Original photo at Museums of Mississauga. Description as of May 2012.
