Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) offers financial
assistance to low-income homeowners to repair their homes. The program is aimed at people who
live in substandard dwellings and cannot afford repairs necessary to make their homes safer and
healthier. If your home requires major repairs, you may be eligible for RRAP assistance to
bring it up to minimum health and safety standards to extend its useful life.
Residential Rehabilitation Assistance Program -
(RRAP-Disabled)
The CMHC also offers financial assistance to homeowners and landlords
to undertake accessibility work to modify dwellings occupied or intended for occupancy by
low-income persons with disabilities. Properties must meet minimum health and safety standards.
Modifications must be related to housing and be reasonably related to the disabled occupant's
disability.
For more information on the RRAP program, please visit the Canadian
Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) website at www.cmhc-schl.gc.ca or telephone 1-800-704-6488 or email
