For Teachers

The Mississauga Library System believes in close collaboration with City of Mississauga schools to enhance the reading and curriculum needs of students. The Library has established communication with all elementary schools and secondary public schools, including French schools.

What can the Library do for you?

  • Provide class visits to the Libraries
  • Provide FREE bussing to the Library paid by the Friends of the Mississauga Library System
  • Provide Outreach class visits at your school
  • Promote literacy to all students in grades K - 12
  • Co-operate with schools to find curriculum-related resources
  • Invite your class to an author event
  • Support your Forest of Reading Program
  • Support research project and homework efforts
  • Get involved in your school's events and students' accomplishments
  • Help you guide your students through the Internet with recommended homework links, research tools and guides for safe Internet surfing.
  • Provide literature-based teaching resources
