The Mississauga Library System maintains a balanced and broad collection to serve the cultural, recreational, educational and informational needs of the Mississauga community. The collection is focused on new and recently published works.
Popular new bestsellers are automatically selected for the library and older titles can be requested through the Inter-Library Loan program by speaking with library staff.
Your suggestion should have as much information as possible, including:
- title (and sub-title, if applicable)
- author (first and last name)
- publishing information (publisher, date of publication/release date)
- media format (book, DVD, CD, videogame, etc.)
- ISBN # (for books)
- your name, email , phone number and Library Card Number
We cannot purchase requests that do not include a valid Mississauga Library Card Number
Your suggestion will be reviewed according to Library purchasing guidelines. Library orders can take 1-3 months to be available for borrowing. If the item is purchased and added to the collection, a hold will be loaded for you if it is possible. There are some collections such as DVDs, CDs, videogames, language kits, computer and travel books, etc. where holds cannot be placed when ordered. In these cases you will need to place a hold on the item when it appears in the catalogue. If your suggestion is not purchased, you will be contacted.
