World Languages Collection
The Mississauga Library System offers books, magazines and DVDs in 24 world languages as
they are reflected in the community. According to the 2006 Canadian Census, 96% of Mississauga
residents have knowledge of English while 66% of residents report that English is the
predominant language spoken in their homes.
Purchases for the collection are based on representation in the community and usage in our
library system. The main collection is maintained at the Central Library and items are made
available at branches.
