Shaam-e-Rekhta Canada brings Rekhta’s celebrated cultural mehfil to Canada with an evening dedicated to Urdu, poetry, music, and culture. Blending the warmth of a traditional mehfil with a contemporary stage format, the event features two signature presentations.

Roohaniyat – An Evening of Sufi Music featuring Rabbi Shergill, one of South Asia’s most distinctive independent musicians, known for blending Punjabi folk, Sufi poetry, and rock with a sound uniquely his own.

Rang Aur Noor, written and directed by Huma Khalil, is a vibrant cultural spectacle of dance, live singing, music, and storytelling. It takes audiences through the golden era of Urdu poets whose timeless verses continue to inspire generations.

Together, Roohaniyat and Rang Aur Noor make Shaam-e-Rekhta Canada a celebration of art, nostalgia, heritage, and the enduring spirit of Urdu.
