Celebrate the Contributions of Public Works in Your Community

National Public Works Week is May 19 to 25!

National Public Works Week is May 19 to 25! It’s a time to celebrate the role that public works professionals have in your community. At the City, this includes staff who maintain and manage public facilities, public transit, roads and infrastructure and more. Public works is also vital to ensure the health, safety and comfort of residents and communities.

On Saturday, May 25, residents and families will have a chance to celebrate and learn more about public works through a number of fun and interactive activities at Mississauga Celebration Square.

What:
Family Fun Day

  • Guided tour of the Mississauga Transitway and Traffic Management Centre at 11 a.m. (departing from the west side of Celebration Square)
  • Truck and equipment displays
  • Live demonstrations (e.g., auto extrication)
  • Interactive exhibits with fun and educational activities
  • Photo booth
  • Bounce castle
  • Face painting
  • Charity barbecue in support of Engineers Without Borders
