City of Mississauga releases 2024 Financial and Sustainability Report and Financial Report Highlights

The City of Mississauga released its 2024 Financial and Sustainability Report and the 2024 Financial Report Highlights online today.

The Financial and Sustainability Report details the City’s financial performance, sustainability initiatives, significant accomplishments and important activities and services that make Mississauga a world-class city. It also provides information about significant financial policies and processes for the year ended December 31, 2024.

The Financial Report Highlights, also known as the Popular Report, provides a snapshot of the City’s financial picture in a compact and easy-to-understand format for the general public and other interested parties. Together, the reports show that the City’s finances are strong and stable. This fiscal position helped the City maintain the highest possible credit rating of “AAA” from Standard & Poor’s Global Ratings agency for 21 years in a row.

While the financial reports are a legislated requirement, the City also ensures they are transparent and easy to understand. The financial information is presented in a clear, concise and informative manner. This builds trust with the public and shows investors that the city is a reliable place to invest.

The City has also been consistently recognized for excellence in financial reporting by industry organizations such as the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada.
