New Year's Eve celebration shortened due to extreme cold

The City has revised the schedule for its New Year’s Eve event on Celebration Square due to extreme cold weather conditions. The event has been shortened and will begin at 11:30 p.m., featuring Shaun Frank and Delaney Jane live on stage, followed by fireworks at midnight. Those attending the event are advised to dress appropriately for the weather. The City will continue to monitor weather conditions and make further adjustments, if necessary.

MiWay is offering free rides on routes across the city on New Year’s Eve from 7 p.m. on December 31 until 4 a.m. on January 1 to ensure event-goers get home safely. More information on fares and holiday bus schedules are available at miway.ca/holidayservice.
Road Closures:
Please be advised that road closures will be in effect in the downtown core between December 31 and January 1.
