Feel Like Moving and Grooving this Summer? Visit One of Mississauga’s Sports Amenities

Entertainment and activities | July 26, 2022

It’s the time of year that everyone looks forward to – summer! The perfect season to enjoy a new activity or find time for your favourite sport.

The City makes it easy for residents of all ages to participate in outdoor and indoor activities offered at one of our many sports amenities. Sports classes and recreational activities contribute to making Mississauga a healthy, active and engaged community.

Take some time and check out all the fun activities you can try this summer!

More Stretch, Less Stress

Massages and medical appointments aren’t the only way to stay on top of your aches and pains. With many people working from home, the City encourages residents to find time to get active. Sign up for therapeutic programs at a community centre that offers a warm water therapeutic pool. Private training sessions are also available at many community centres. Residents looking to relax and stretch can also try indoor and outdoor yoga classes throughout the summer.

Playgrounds for Everyone

Accessible and barrier-free playgrounds offer a safe and fun environment for people of all ages and abilities. In addition to children, parents with accessibility needs are also encouraged to visit one of the City’s playgrounds. Larger swings, artificial turf and rubberized play areas are just some of the ways the City has designed the parks so that everyone feels safe and comfortable.

Find a barrier-free playground near you.

In Need of a Wheelie Good Time? Visit Mississauga’s BMX-mountain Bike Parks

There are a few BMX-mountain bike parks around the city, offering residents the chance to ride, develop balance and perfect their landing. These parks often have a variety of lines and obstacles, so don’t forget to bring a helmet.

Want to Try Something New Without Commitment?

Not sure where to start? Find a drop-in program at your closest community centre. Drop-in programs fill on a first come, first served basis and you can check in at the front desk to join in on the fun.
