Fore! Clean Your Clubs and Get Ready for Golf Season in Mississauga

City services | April 11, 2023

As the calendar has now turned to April, it’s time to take your clubs out of storage, find your best outfit, and prepare for golf season. There is no better place to play golf than right here in Mississauga. Mississauga is home to many golf courses and the City of Mississauga owns and operates two great public courses for golfers to enjoy. So start reserving your tee time online and get excited! BraeBen and Lakeview Golf Courses open Friday, April 14 and Braeben 9-Hole Academy Course opens April 28.

BraeBen

BraeBen is located in the centre of Mississauga’s Heartland community and offers an 18-hole Championship Course and a 9-hole Par-3 Academy Course. In addition, BraeBen’s driving range provides great views of the city, 100 feet above ground level.

Whether you’re new to the game or looking to improve, BraeBen offers private golf lessons designed and taught by Accredited Golf Professionals. Full-day summer junior golf clinics are also available for golfers aged six to 12.

Course disruptions and upgrades

Due to irrigation upgrades, there will be two rotating holes out of play this spring, replaced with two from the Par-3 Academy course. In addition, some tee decks will be under construction, with alternate ones in play. Temporary discounted green fees will be in effect to accommodate for this disruption.

Only seven holes will be in play this spring at the Braeben Academy 9-Hole course due to irrigation construction updates. To accommodate for this disruption, one same-day complimentary replay will be available to each golfer, subject to availability.

Lakeview

Lakeview is located south of the QEW and offers one of the most picturesque courses in the GTA. The course has been at its present location since 1907, has hosted two Canadian Opens, and is designated as an Ontario Heritage site.

Lakeview will fully operational this season after almost two years due to the Applewood Creek restoration project.

City golf courses going cashless

Both BraeBen and Lakeview will be cashless in 2023, so please bring your debit or credit card. Changes will take effect when courses and facilities open for business this spring. The transition to cashless transactions will help City golf courses operate in a more efficient manner.

We’re looking forward to seeing you on the green!
