New Directors Appointed to Enersource Board

Mississauga City Council has approved the appointment of Ward 6 Councillor Ron Starr, David Warner and Linda Kuga Pikulin to the Enersource Board of Directors.

In November 2015, all shareholders approved a proposal to merge municipal electricity utilities Enersource, Horizon Utilities and PowerStream and jointly acquire Hydro One Brampton. The merger is subject to final approval by the Ontario Energy Board.

As part of the merger, Council has approved a new Shareholders Agreement for Enersource Corporation. Enersource Corporation will continue to exist post-merger, to receive the dividends from the newly merged utility, MergeCo and manage the debt which remains in the corporation.

Biographies

Ron Starr was elected to Mississauga City Council in 2010 and continues to serve as the Councillor for Ward 6 and as Regional Councillor for Peel. Ron holds a B.Sc. in engineering and is designated as both a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) and a Professional Land Economist. Prior to entering municipal politics in 2010, he was President of a family owned development, planning, building and land use consultant firm. Ron is a 30-year veteran of the Enersource Hydro Mississauga board, having served in all positions including Chair and President. He has been a strong supporter of the Mississauga community for decades, through various volunteer and charitable work such as the Rotary Club of Mississauga, the Mississauga Board of Trade and the Credit Valley Hospital Board of Directors. Ron has lived with his family in Mississauga for over 40 years.

David Warner CPA,CA, MBA, ICD.d has served on the Board of Enersource Corporation since 2013 and has been a member of the Audit Committee. During his 36 year career at KPMG, he served many clients in regulated transmission and distribution businesses. David has been a director of several public and non-public companies since his retirement from KPMG.

Linda Kuga Pikulin retired from PepsiCo Beverages Canada in 2011 after 29 years of service. She held the position of President of PepsiCo Beverages Canada from 2010 to 2011 where she led the newly integrated bottling operations and brand marketing of Pepsico’s multi-billion dollar beverage portfolio. Linda has been recognized for her exceptional leadership and business results by PepsiCo receiving the “Circle of Excellence” Award for three consecutive years. She was also recognized by the Women’s Executive Network as one of Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women in 2009 and 2010. Linda was appointed to the Enersource Board of Directors in 2012 and currently serves as the Chair of the Human Resources and Corporate Governance Committee. She is also an active community leader appointed as a Director to the Trillium Health Partners Foundation and member of the Corporate Governance Committee. Linda is also a past board director of the United Way of Peel Region and Catalyst Canada organizations.
