Parking Time Extended for 10 Statutory Holidays

The City of Mississauga amended its Traffic By-law to allow parking beyond the three-hour limit for 10 statutory holidays.

 

Cars can be parked between 8 a.m. to midnight on the following statutory holidays:

  • New Year’s Day
  • Family Day
  • Good Friday
  • Victoria Day
  • Canada Day
  • Civic Holiday
  • Labour Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Day
  • Boxing Day

 

Cars must be parked in compliance with the City of Mississauga’s Traffic By-law and all applicable laws. The bylaw amendment comes into effect on February 24, 2016.

 

Temporary Parking Permits Available 24/7

Extended parking for other days can be requested 24/7 using the City’s Temporary Parking Permit Online Service. This online service allows requests to be made for short-term parking on a residential street. Up to 14 short-term parking permits in a year for each address can be requested where there are no prohibited signs. This permit is not valid on private property.

 

Use the Pingstreet Mobile App for Parking Permits

Temporary parking permits for residential streets in Mississauga can also be requested directly from a smartphone using Pingstreet – a free mobile app for the City.  The Pingstreet mobile app is free and available for download at the following stores: App StoreGoogle PlayBlackBerry World, and Windows Store.
