Registrations open for City’s Driveway Windrow Clearing Service

Older adults and people with disabilities can apply for City’s Driveway Windrow Snow Clearing Program until November 11. The program helps clear snow at the end of driveways after road plowing.

“We want to reach out to residents before the onset of winter so they can sign up,” said Bob Levesque, Acting Director of Works Operations & Maintenance. “Applications are received at the community centres, Mississauga Seniors’ Centre or the Recreation Customer Service Centre.”

Driveway Windrow Snow Clearing Program

The windrow snow clearing service will plow a three metre (10 feet) wide area at the end of the driveway for one car to pass. The service may take up to 36 hours after a snow storm and bare pavement cannot be guaranteed.The program runs from November 28, 2016 till March 10, 2017.

Who is Eligible?

Residents who are 65 years and older in 2016 and people with disabilities can apply for the program. The cost of the program is either $200 or free if the applicant meets financial assistance criteria.

How to Apply?

Applications for the Driveway Windrow Snow Clearing Program are available online or at all community centres, the Recreation Customer Service Centre (located at the Central Library) and the Mississauga Seniors’ Centre. City of Mississauga community centres will be accepting applications until Friday, November 11 at 9 p.m.
