SoundBites: Music, Movies & Food Trucks invade Mississauga Celebration Square

Visit Mississauga Celebration Square on September 5 and 6 for SoundBites: Music, Movies & Food Trucks, a free outdoor event that has something for everyone. Join us on Friday night for food trucks and a double-bill movie. Then on Saturday enjoy a free concert and a food truck award presentation.

Headlining Saturday’s concert is Grammy winning hip hop group Del La Soul. The legendary “Me, Myself and I” trio will take the stage for a 90 minute concert, celebrating 25 years of hip hop, rap and jazz. Starting at 9:30 p.m. watch as the Square transforms into a live concert venue as the group performs classic fan favourites and a few new tracks off their latest album You’re Welcome, along with their mixtape, Smell the Da.I.S.Y.

Before the concert, join us at 7 p.m. for the AwesTRUCK Awards. This award ceremony presentation acknowledges some of the best food trucks in Ontario. Grab something to eat at any of the 25 food trucks lining the Square.

• Food truck rally featuring more than 25 gourmet food trucks (5 to 11 p.m.)
• AwesTRUCK Awards presentation – honouring the best in Ontario food trucks (starts at 7 p.m.)
• Hip Hop Karaoke – hosted by Maestro Fresh Wes (starts at 7:30 p.m.)
• Headline concert featuring hip hop idol Del La Soul (starts at 9:30 p.m.)
