Schools and daycares are permitted in a number of different zones.
The by-law defines three different types of schools:
Regulations for public schools can be found in Table 2.1.9.1 of the Zoning By-law.
Regulations for private schools can be found in Table 2.1.9.2.
Commercial schools are permitted in specific zones. Check the zoning restrictions for your property using the find property information tool.
Lester B. Pearson International Airport operating area
Day care and schools are not permitted within the Lester B Pearson International Airport Operating Area. For more information review subsection 2.1.23 of the Zoning By-law.
Cooksville Creek Flood Plain Area
Daycares, public and private schools are not permitted in the Cooksville Creek Flood Plan Area. For more information review section 2.1.24 of the Zoning By-law.
