Hire a design professional

It’s strongly recommended that you work with a design professional such as an architect, professional engineer or qualified designer to create complete and accurate drawings that comply with the Building Code and Mississauga Zoning By-law. These drawings will need to be submitted along with your permit application.

All drawings for non-residential and multi-residential properties such as apartments and condos must be signed, sealed and dated by an architect, professional engineer and/or qualified designer.

Why drawings are required

The City requires drawings of your proposal so that we can determine if what you are building is safe and complies with the Zoning By-law, the Ontario Building Code, and any other applicable law.

All drawings must be drawn correctly and professionally, they must also include details about how your project is going to be constructed. These details could include materials used, sizes, spans, and dimensions.
