The library partners with Mississauga schools to enhance the reading, research and curriculum needs of teachers and students from kindergarten to grade 12.
In person class visits are back! To learn more and book your class visit to the library contact your partner location. Library staff can also visit your school to introduce students to library services.
You and your class can also watch our virtual class visit videos and explore the library’s online resources.

The Grade 4 Read to Succeed program is back in person for the 2023-2024 school year.
This program introduces grade four students in Mississauga to their local public library and encourages them to read for pleasure throughout the year. The goal of this program is to ignite the joy of reading and to motivate students to visit the library on a regular basis. At the end of each school year, we celebrate classes with the highest participation rates across Mississauga at a special event at Celebration Square!
Grade four teachers, to get more information about participating and booking an introductory Grade 4 Read to Succeed visit for your class, check the library school partner list and contact your assigned library location. If you have any questions or need more information, email support.library@mississauga.ca.
Obtain library cards on behalf of your students (under 16 years old), by following these steps:
Bundle together and drop off all forms in an envelope. Please include teacher’s name, school name and contact information on the envelope.
You will be contacted to pick up the cards when they are ready. Once the cards have been processed and are ready for pick up, library staff will get in touch to arrange a time for pick up.
If you are a teacher at a private school, PDSB Online School or DPCDSB Remote School, please contact support.library@mississauga.ca to inquire about obtaining library cards.
Individuals 16 years of age and older can apply online for a Virtual Library Card.
The library offers a variety of online resources for teachers, students and parents.
The Forest of Reading program highlights the year’s best Canadian authors and illustrators. Mississauga Library supports teachers and schools by purchasing copies of the nominated titles.

The TD Summer Reading Club is Canada’s biggest bilingual summer reading program for kids of all ages, interests and abilities. The club helps kids explore the fun of reading and celebrates Canadian authors, illustrators and stories.
Participating in reading programs can help kids improve or maintain their reading levels during the summer. Fostering a love of reading helps improve word recognition, vocabulary and reading comprehension.
Join the club every year throughout June, July and August.
