How do I donate offline?
The City of Mississauga currently accepts offline donations for S.C.A.R.F., Museums
and Jerry Love. More information can be found by visiting their web page for contact and
address information. You may also go to a Community Centre to make a Jerry Love donation,
Animal Services for S.C.A.R.F. donations, or to Bradley/Benares Museums for museum
donations. Currently our Forestry operations do not support counter staff to accept
donations however contact information is available on the Urban Forestry webpage where you will
receive assistance with your donation requirements.
Is it safe to use my Credit Card?
Yes, using your credit card at The City of Mississauga web site is safe. The site uses
VeriSign Secured SSL (Secured Socket Layer) Certificates technology to secure all information
gathered from our customers at the time of purchase/payment. This means that any personal
information is encrypted and safe while it travels over the Internet.
What are my payment options?
The City of Mississauga accepts VISA, AMEX and MasterCard. All amounts are in Canadian
dollars. Your credit card information will be processed in real time. If you do not wish to
order online through the store, please contact the specific business unit noted on the
product's details page for other options.
What if I have a problem with my order?
Should you encounter problems during the checkout process, check your Order History -
note you must be logged in to the website to view Order History. Furthermore you can
check your email inbox to see if an order confirmation email was sent to you. If your do
not receive an email confirming order receipt and there is no record of the order in your Order
History, please re-submit your order.
Lost or Damaged Products. If you receive any product that is damaged, please notify the
Mississauga eStore. Once we receive the damaged product, we'll ship you a replacement. Please
note that The City of Mississauga will not replace products ordered in error or damaged due to
misuse or improper use.
Late Delivery. If your product does not arrive in seven business days, please contact us for
assistance locating your product. See the How to Contact Us page for more information.
What if my payment request fails?
If you enter a credit card number that cannot be validated by the payment vendor, your
payment request will not be approved. An Online Receipt will not be generated, and you will be
alerted of the failure to process the payment. You may return to the order form you filled out
to re-enter your credit card information.
Your credit card will not be charged until the product is ready to ship. In the event
that we encounter credit card problems when trying to charge your account, you will receive an
email advising of the problem, shipping will then be held and our Mississauga eStore staff will
When will I receive my official donation receipt?
Currently official donation receipts are prepared manually and mailed via Canada Post. Official donation receipts are only issued for donations of $20 or more.
Will I receive a receipt for my transaction?
Yes, at the end of your transaction, a screen displays your order summary and the
message "Your transaction was completed successfully!". Additionally, an electronic
receipt will be emailed to the address supplied by you with your order. Print and retain both
copies for your records.
Will my personal information be safe?
Personal information is gathered in order for The City of Mississauga to establish and
maintain relations with customers, to provide ongoing service, to understand customer needs and
preferences, and to meet legal and regulatory requirements. We do not sell or trade your
personal information with outside companies and shall only use this personal information for
the purposes of fulfilling your order.
The purchase of online donations provides for a recognition process whereby the City can
acknowledge your generous donations. You can also choose to purchase an anonymous
donations and the City will not proceed with any recognition steps.
