COVID-19: latest updates on the City’s response and service impacts

The Government of Ontario announced further restrictions to the stay-at-home order, in effect as of Saturday, April 17. As a result, all outdoor recreational amenities, such as golf courses, basketball courts, soccer fields, and outdoor fitness equipment are closed.

We continue to offer virtual services online. See a complete program and service impact update.

Sauga at Play

Sauga At Play gives youth ages 10 to 18 access to free, drop-in activities at all community centres and select school locations. This inclusive program supports positive youth development regardless of social or economic background.

When programming resumes, we will continue to ask participants to sign up for a free Sauga At Play youth membership. Before you participate, print and complete the application form and bring it with you to the community centre customer service desk.

Drop in programs

Sauga At Play runs throughout the school year, after school and during some lunchtimes. When Sauga At Play resumes, schedules will be posted online. Participation will continue to require signing up for a free youth membership card.

Activities include:

  • Basketball, soccer, and other sports
  • Arts and dance
  • Youth activism and volunteerism
  • Social and leadership opportunities

Sauga At Play also provides volunteer opportunities and part-time employment for youth leaders and mentors.
