Sciences And Business Department

The Sciences and Business department is located on the second floor of the Central Library and offers an extensive collection in a variety of subject areas, including social sciences, religion, science and technology, mathematics, business, law, government documents, Canadian citizenship and immigration, and career planning.

The collection comprises a variety of formats: books, DVDs, videos, periodicals, and electronic resources. Our knowledgeable staff is available to assist you.

Consumer Health Information sites have been selected to assist the user in achieving free and easy access to health and medical information. Details

Resource Guides are compiled by Library staff and focus on an area of the Sciences and Business collections ...useful for reference and research.

  • Consumer Health Resource Guides
    The Consumer Health Collection includes books, reference sources, magazines, pamphlets, audio and video materials which have been selected to assist the user in achieving free and easy access to health and medical information. Consumer Health Resource Guides feature topics such as prostate cancer and hearing loss and provide a selection of relevant books, articles, websites and local associations.

  • Business Electronic Resources
    Powerful search and sort features make Internet-subscription databases invaluable.  Details

  • Business Subject Guides
    Business resources listed by popular/current topics such as Famous Canadians in Business; the Canadian Economy; Import/Export; Young Offenders Law, etc.  Details

  • Science Subject Guides
    Need information on science topics? These Sciences Resources can get you started on your search. Details

  • Millwright Resource Guide
    Compiled by the Sciences Department, this guide highlights materials which describe and detail the knowledge and skills required to become a millwright.  Details

  • Small Business Resources
    The Sciences and Business collection includes materials on starting, planning, financing, marketing, and managing a small business. We also provides access to information on other topics of interest to entrepreneurs such as laws and regulations, taxation, and franchising. Details

  • Scott's National Plus and Canadian Business Online
    Use these powerful electronic databases to perform multiple-criteria searches. Note: Canadian Business Online is available for use in the Business Department only. Scott's National Plus is available at all library locations.

  • Mississauga Business Directory
    Provides contact information on over 11,000 non-retail businesses located in Mississauga. Available in electronic format for in-library use at all Mississauga Library System locations, or for sale.

Register or renew a business name through the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) website:
