McGraw-Hill Encyclopedia of Science and Technology, news articles, and biographies for research.


Ancestry Library Edition

A genealogy resource especially for United States and Canadian records. It includes census, birth, marriage, death, immigration, military records and more. Some of the content included in the individual paid subscription services for Ancestry.com and  Ancestry.ca is not included in Ancestry Library Edition.

Online video music lessons for a variety of instruments and music styles, all learning levels.

Database of more than 2.1 million Canadian businesses for reference and research.


Canadiana Public Collections

Archive of Mississauga’s historic local newspapers for research and genealogy. Newspapers include the Port Credit News, Port Credit Weekly, The Weekly, The Mississauga News, South Peel Weekly and the Mississauga Times.


CBC Corner

Portal to discover unique Canadian and local content including news, TV and radio shows, podcasts, kids content, a language learning app and much more.


Craftsy

Learn basic instruction to advanced techniques for fabric and yarn crafts, baking, drawing and more.

Research database on a variety of topics providing access to reference materials from books, encyclopaedias, newspapers, scholarly journals and magazines up to a high school level of difficulty.

Flipster

A smaller digital magazine platform that has a few of the popular magazine titles not available through OverDrive (previously RBDigital). Titles include Consumer Reports, Macleans, Chatelaine, Time, People and Forbes.


Freegal

Download and stream music in a variety of genres. Listen to curated playlists and create your own.

Gale eBooks

Encyclopedic ebooks for research that covers the arts, business, social sciences, science and history topics. Encyclopaedias include the Business Plans Handbook and the Gale Contextual Encyclopedia of World Literature.


Gale Health and Wellness

Consumer health database geared towards patients and those who are not medical professionals. Contains professionally written articles from magazines, journals and encyclopedias, as well as educational videos and audio recordings. Contains information on diseases, diagnostics, drugs and medical procedures.


Gale in Context: Elementary

Kid-friendly database for practising research skills and exploring interests inside and outside the classroom. Includes curated articles from encyclopaedias, newspapers and magazines.


Gale Literature Criticism

Research database featuring articles of literary criticism on authors and literary works including fiction, children’s literature, drama and poetry.


Gale OneFile: CPI.Q Canadian Periodicals

Canadian full-text article database containing newspapers, magazines and journals for research.


Gale OneFile: Health and Medicine

Full-text database containing health and medical research articles from scholarly journals, magazines, newspapers, and reference books as well as educational videos. This database is more academic than the Gale Health and Wellness database.


Globe and Mail archive

Browse the Globe and Mail’s online archives and access newspapers dating back to 1844.

Historic Images Gallery

Library of historical photos of Mississauga including images of people, events, artifacts, buildings and places from the 1860s to the present day. For local history and genealogical research.


Hoopla

Borrow digital music, ebooks, audiobooks, movies, television shows and comics to stream in your web browser or enjoy offline on your smartphone or tablet. Up to 15 titles a month can be checked-out.

Practice tests, tutorials and ebooks to help prepare for GED, SAT, Canadian citizenship, IELTs, NCLEX and various career and education related testing. Technology learning resources for Microsoft Office and Windows operating systems.


LinkedIn Learning

Online video courses in professional development. Over 16,000 video tutorial courses led by experts on leadership, web design, software development, photography, project management, graphic design, audio and video editing, and more. There are some videos in French and other languages. Formerly known as Lynda.

  • Log in with your library card and PIN (only physical library card numbers will be accepted)
  • A LinkedIn account is not necessary to access LinkedIn Learning videos. Certificates of completion can be downloaded but cannot be directly uploaded to a LinkedIn account
