The Library subscribes to a variety of online databases (thousands of magazine
articles, newspapers, articles and much more) that are not available through regular online
search engines. They are great for homework, assignments, research, or just for those people
who really want to know about something.
There are two ways to access databases: from home or when in the Library. Some
databases are only available in the library; some are available to all Mississauga Library
System customers from home (you can also search these databases at the Library). All you
need is an up to date library card. Ask for assistance at your local branch.
Do your research from home, 24/7!
Are you a student who is writing an assignment using encyclopedias, magazines or reference
books? Are you interested in finding the most up to date information on wellness and holistic
resources? Are you trying to decide which career path to take? The electronic resources below
provide access to all types of information, including newspaper and magazine articles, journals
for scholarly or school research, encyclopedia articles, book reviews and so much more.
Click on the electronic resource's title to access. Some of the resources only allow a limited
number of users at one time. The databases are listed in alphabetical order. If they do
not have a link, you must go to the Library to access them. Please note that a few databases
are only available at Central Library.
