WHAT IS IT?
Teen Advisory Groups (or TAGs) are comprised of youth 14 to 18 years old who
assist library staff in creating captivating programs for young adults. TAGs also provide staff
with feedback on the librarys teen collections, contribute website ideas, write book
reviews, create teen-oriented displays to promote reading, provide input on the creation of
inviting teen-spaces at the library and much more.
Teens join TAG for many reasons: to meet other teens, to share a love of books, to gain
experience to list on university and scholarship applications, to receive credit for
volunteering, and above all to have a direct voice in shaping the type of library
they envision for themselves and their peers. |
