Library Code of Conduct

Our libraries are dynamic, vibrant spaces where community members share space and engage in a variety of activities. Noise levels may vary throughout the building.

As a customer, we ask that you:

  • Be respectful and considerate of others
  • Do not leave a child or vulnerable person unattended
  • Ensure that children under 10 are supervised by a caregiver
  • Keep noise at a reasonable level and consider using designated quiet spaces (available at some locations)
  • Bring in only registered guide or service animals
  • Wear appropriate clothing and footwear at all times
  • Eat and drink where permitted (except where posted otherwise)
  • Be responsible for personal belongings
  • Refrain from running or using bikes, skateboards, rollerblades, scooters, or similar equipment
  • Ensure all items removed from the library are checked out and speak to staff if the security gate alarm sounds
  • Seek permission from library staff to photograph, film, or record on or near library premises
  • Refrain from soliciting

Mississauga Library will address behaviour which disrespects the facility, its resources, staff, or the rights of others.
