Suggest a title

You can suggest a book, eBook, eAudiobook, DVD, Blu-ray, video game or other title to add to the library collection.

While we consider all suggestions, it is not possible to add all titles to the collection. Selection decisions are based on the Collection Policy.

You must have a Mississauga Library card in good standing to suggest a title.

Before you suggest a title

  • Check the library catalogue before submitting a suggestion. We do not accept suggestions for titles already available in any format in the catalogue, including through Overdrive, Hoopla, or Kanopy.
  • Do not submit popular or bestselling authors and titles. These are purchased automatically.
  • Titles must be from the current or previous year. Older, specialized or out-of-print titles may be available through interlibrary loan.
  • Titles must be published and available in North America with Canadian distribution rights.
  • You can submit up to three suggestions per month.

How to suggest a title

  1. Log in to your library account (a valid library card and PIN are required).
  2. Go to My Library Dashboard and click Submit a Suggestion to make a new suggestion.
  3. Track the progress of your suggestion within your library account on the Suggested Purchases page. You must be logged into your account to view this page.

You can also suggest an eBook or eAudiobook in the Libby app by adding a Notify Me tag to titles you would like us to consider. If the library purchases a title, you will receive a notification in Libby (and on your device if push notifications are enabled). You will need to place a hold on any title that is added to the collection.
