The annual Mississauga Book Fest returns to the Mississauga Central Library! It's another jam-packed day of programs and activities. Here’s what’s happening!
 
Visit the Local Author's Lounge
 Grace O'Connell  Kevin Sylvester  Halloween Stories
At 11:00 a.m., Grace O'Connell, whose first novel Magnified World was published in May by Random House, will be presenting and taking questions afterward. From 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Grace will also be conducting a workshop for teen writers. At 2:00 p.m., Kevin Sylvester, award-winning writer, illustrator, and broadcaster, whose books include the Neil Flamb series, Gold Medal for Weird, and Sports Hall of Weird, will be visiting for an engaging and entertaining presentation that kids will not want to miss. Bone-chilling tales for kids ages 5Y+

Human Library
  • Take in the Youth Art display!
  • Buy a book bargain at the Friends of the Library Used Book Sale
  • A Library Programs and Services Fair will tell you all about the Library
  • Participate in the QR Code
  • The Library's Tech Rovers will be on-hand to answer questions about eReaders and downloadable eBooks and eAudioBooks
  • Scavenger Hunt for a chance to win a prize!
  • Attend the Kathleen A Hicks Historical Writing Award, recognising local history contributions by youth ages 14 to 19 at 1:00 p.m.

Toy Robot Play all day in the Kids' Zone, located in the Children's Department, where you just might meet the Queen of Hearts, Spiderman or even a ROBOT! Puzzles, games and other activities will be happening along with hourly Family Storytimes starting at 11:00 a.m. ButtonsAll afternoon, Teens and Youth are welcome to drop in to the Readers’ Den Program room for lots of interactive activities. At 3:00 p.m., they’re invited to attend the DIY: Button-Making Program, where they can create and wear buttons of their own design.
