Call for Artists: Ice and Lights – Digital Public Art Exhibition

The opportunity

The City of Mississauga’s Public Art Program is seeking new or existing light-based artwork to be a part of the 2023 Ice and Lights Exhibition, a digital public art series taking place in November and December 2023 in Mississauga’s downtown core.

This public competition is open to artists and artist-led teams, designers, artist collectives, and digital media groups nationally and internationally.

We are looking for interactive and/or light-based artworks (such as sculpture, installation, multimedia, and digital or virtual projects like virtual reality and augmented reality experiences) that can activate the space. The artwork should offer an inviting and accessible visitor experience.

Artists are also encouraged to submit related and/or supplementary community engagement activities, artist talks, and artist workshops as part of their proposals.

The total budget for this project ranges between $5,000 to $7,500 CAD plus HST.
