About the artwork

“Growing up in Mississauga, the Central Library has always been a symbol of fun, play and setting out on a new adventure. The library is so grand – so many floors to explore and books my sister and I wanted to get my hands on. As I grew older, the library became a place to study exams with my friends and a safe location to wait in until my parents or brothers picked me up. When I look back at the library now, I realize how well it has served my time growing up. It is a place that was full of wonder and also comfort. I hope that anyone entering the library – with its newly renovated state and commitment to innovation are presented with the same feeling and know they too have a place they belong in the library.”
