Maker Mississauga

Makerspaces and 3D printers are unavailable during the library’s limited services reopening.

Maker Mississauga gives you the chance to use library equipment such as 3D printers, building kits, robotics, sewing machines, filmmaking tools and computers to help develop your STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math) skills.

There is a minimal fee for 3D printing materials.

Work on your own in a Makerspace

You can use maker equipment and computer programs and software to work on your own STEAM projects in rooms called Makerspaces. Makerspaces are available at three libraries:

Makerspace use is limited to two hour bookings. Bookings can be extended, based on availability. To book a Makerspace, contact the library location. A library card is required. All ages welcome, participants 14 years of age and younger must have a caregiver with them in the Makerspace at all times.

3D printing and design

Learn how to use a 3D printer and create your own designs using TinkerCAD software.

You may use the 3D printers to print your own designs or sample designs from the library once you have completed the 30 minute introduction session.

Makerbot 3D printers are available at the following locations:

The cost for a Makerbot print is a $1.00 set-up fee plus $0.05 per minute, not including HST.

Ultimaker 3 3D printers are available at the following locations:

The cost for an Ultimaker print is a $2.00 set-up fee plus $0.08 per gram (PLA) and $0.19 per gram (PVA supports), not including HST.

Printing is limited to four hours (Makerbot) or eight hours (Ultimaker) per project and is available on a first-come-first-served basis. The accepted file types are .stl and designs must be approved by library staff.


Our handicraft programs teach you how to sew by hand or with a sewing machine. You can also learn knitting and needlework.

Coding and robotics

Children, teens, and adults can explore fun introductions to coding concepts and collaborate to code robots, games and much more.


Build and create with all types of materials and moving parts like electronics, LEGO™ and Minecraft.

Digital filmmaking

Create your own digital photography and videos using our green screen equipment or learn how to shoot stop motion animated movies.

Maker Clubs

If you want to learn STEAM skills, join our Maker Clubs and try out a different program each week.
