Mississauga's first shared use facility and the newest state-of-the-art building, the Erin
Meadows Community Centre and Library was officially opened on Saturday, September 15, 2001.
This unique partnership between the City of Mississauga, the Mississauga Library Board and the
Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board is the first to share space in an attempt to
reduce capital costs.
The facility is conveniently located close to Hwy 403 and the Erin Mills Town Centre. It is
275,000 square feet, with 39,000 square feet devoted to the community centre and 23,000 square
feet for the two-storey library. There are two pools: a 25 metre, six lane model and a play
pool kept at 90 degrees for the little ones.
There are four program rooms as well as an aerobics studio and a cafe. This school's special
facilities include a triple gymnasium, cafetorium that seats 1,800, music rooms, television
studio, cosmetology salon, theatre and outdoor sports fields.
