Anyone can have an Active Mississauga account but there are different conditions and costs when you are not a resident of Mississauga.
Non-residents may complete registrations after registration begins for residents, and are required to pay additional fees for paid activities, memberships and facility rentals.
To be considered a resident of Mississauga, your primary home must be within the city boundaries.
You need an email address to create an account.
A family account must have a main contact who is responsible for paying for activities and facility rentals. The main contact must be 18 years or older. If the main contact changes, you’ll need to create a new account.
To create an account, you’ll need an email address, your personal information and your contact information. If your address contains a unit number, enter it as unit number-street address. For example, 4-123 Main Street.
You need to be over 18 years old to create an account or be the main contact.
After you submit the form, you’ll get an invitation in your email to activate your account. You need to click the link in your email to activate your account. When your account is activated, you’ll be able to login and use Active Mississauga.
You can add family members to your account at any time if you are the main contact.
Your family member will now be listed on your account. To add more family members, repeat the steps. Family members can share an email address.
If you get locked out of your account, forget your password or change your email address, you’ll need to reset your password.
You can now login with your new password.
There are thousands of activities available across the City of Mississauga in our community centres, libraries and other facilities. Knowing the names of the locations can help you find activities near you.
Activities can be filtered by when (date), where (location), who (age), activities (activity type) and the number of open spots you need. You can combine filtering with search for activity names or keywords.
Filtering and searching will limit the results you see so you can find exactly what you’re looking for. To get accurate results, only use one activity at a time in search.
The “Reset all” link at the end of the available filters resets the filters to show you every available activity. This allows you to start over if you aren’t getting results you want or want to look for a different activity.
You can register for activities online or in person once registration opens. Registering online is the fastest and easiest way to register for activities. If you need internet access, many City locations offer free Wi-Fi that you can use with a personal device.
On the first day of registration, sign in early to search for activities or access your wish list before registration starts at 7 a.m.
Review your receipt and save a copy for your records.
Prepare for registration by searching through the options and making a wish list of your preferred activities (choosing the open heart shape 🤍 for the activity). You can add activities to your wish list as soon as the activities are viewable online.
You can sort your wish list by the start date, the date you add the activity and the activity name. You can filter your wish list by participant.
Activities will remain on your wish list after you enroll until the activity ends or is cancelled. To remove activities, deselect the heart.
Activities are marked as full when all the available spaces are taken. You can join a waiting list to be contacted by email if a space opens up. Joining a waiting list does not guarantee enrollment.
To join a waiting list, choose “+ Waiting List” on the activity and select which participant is joining.
The option to join a waiting list only shows when the activity is full.
Within your Active Mississauga account, you can view your activity registrations and facility reservations. If you’re the main contact, you can also view your family members’ schedules.
To add the schedule to your personal device calendar, choose the calendar icon to the right of the “View Family Members Schedule” page title. If you don’t have any registrations, this option won’t be available.
You can withdraw online and get a full refund if it’s five calendar days before the start of an activity.
To withdraw less than five days before an activity starts, or after an activity starts, call the Customer Service Centre or visit a community centre, outdoor pool or arena in-person for help. Some exclusions and limitations apply.
When an activity is cancelled by the City due to unforeseen circumstances, every effort will be made to add a make-up class. If a make-up class cannot be provided, a credit will be issued.
Activities may also be cancelled before the start date of the first class due to low registration. A full refund will be provided in this circumstance, to the original payment method.
You can buy adult memberships, older adult memberships and multi-visit passes online. After your purchase, you can go to any community centre, outdoor pool or arena to have your photo taken and your membership card printed.
You’ll receive a confirmation email. Receipts are available on Active Mississauga in your profile under “Payments and Transactions”.
You can use Active Mississauga to reserve some arenas, gymnasiums, artificial turf, picnic areas, library study rooms and makerspaces online.
Each facility has different rental schedules and not all facilities can be reserved online.
For facilities that can’t be reserved online, or if you need help, you can request a facility rental through the Request a facility rental or park permit form.
You’ll receive a confirmation email. Receipts are available on Active Mississauga in your profile under “Payments and Transactions”.
Facility rentals are non-refundable.
You can pay for activity registrations using a credit card, debit card, physical gift card, account credit or ActiveAssist. Additionally, some activity registrations allow you to pay over time by selecting “Use payment plan”.
You can pay for facility reservations using a credit card, debit card, physical gift card or account credit.
Saving your credit card on your account will help speed up your checkout time. The three-digit CVV/CVC number is required every time you check out.
The registration system is thoroughly tested and uses encryption like what is used for e-commerce and banking systems. The padlock symbol in the address bar indicates the pages are secure.
If an activity costs more than $50 and is more than 8 weeks in duration, you may pay in two instalments, 50% when you register, and 50% mid-way through the activity.
For camp activities, payment is due in full on June 1 for July camps and July 1 for August camps.
If you register after an activity has started, your fees will be prorated based on the number of sessions remaining. Skating and dance recital activities don’t permit late registrations.
When you’re ready to check out, you’ll be prompted to enter or validate your credit card information.
To save it to your account, check the “Store this card for future use” box.
Your credit card will now appear in “Saved Credit Cards”.
You can also add a new credit card at checkout if you don’t want to use the one(s) saved on your account.
If you wish to use cash or debit, you can purchase or refill a physical gift card for online registration at any community centre, outdoor pool or arena.
When you’re ready to check out, you can choose to pay with a physical gift card by entering the gift card number from the back of the card.
If the cost at checkout is more than the credit you have available, you’ll need to pay the difference.
ActiveAssist is a financial subsidy to help Mississauga residents with the cost of recreation and culture activities. You can use ActiveAssist to pay for activities and buy memberships. Visits are not included.
You can use ActiveAssist for all or part of the activity or membership fee. The subsidy will be automatically applied when ActiveAssist is active and has a balance.
Withdrawing or transferring will return the subsidy amount to your ActiveAssist balance.
This will display subsidy information for each family member:
Refunds can only go to the credit card used to pay for the registration. We can’t refund an expired credit card.
If you split the payment between a credit card and a subsidy, both will be credited as they were split.
You must select the credit card you used when you withdraw. The credit card used is identified by the last four digits, such as xxx1234.
If you choose “Account”, the activity registration fee will be credited to your account. Only the original payer can use the credit to pay for other activities. Other family or account members can’t use the credit.
If you want to get a refund of a credit to your account, contact the Customer Service Centre. They’ll mail you a cheque.
You can contact our Customer Service Centre from Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. by calling 905-615-4100 extension 1 (Registrations). You can also go in person to any community centre, outdoor pool or arena.
