David Laurin

David Laurin is one of the current Resident Artists participating in the City of Mississauga’s Resident Artist Program at the Living Arts Centre.

About the artist

David Laurin is a crafts person and designer currently based in Ontario. Having first studied philosophy at the University of Toronto, David’s love of craft and design was fostered during his time in the furniture studio at Sheridan College. Primarily a furniture maker, David enjoys exploring a variety of mediums including wood, textiles and ceramics. His work sits at the cross roads of traditional craft and modernist fabrication methods. David’s work is influenced mostly by modernist architecture and the legacy of craft labour of which he is apart.
