Riding public transit is about sharing the space. A little kindness makes the ride better for everyone. At MiWay, we want your trip to be safe, comfortable, and respectful. That’s why we created the ‘Ride kind’ campaign. It shows simple things you can do that make a big difference for everyone’s journey.
Here are some easy ways to ‘Ride kind’ every time you hop on MiWay:
Turn down the volume
Keep your voice low and wear headphones when you talk on the phone or listen to music and videos. This helps keep the bus calm and quiet.
Make room for others
Keep your bags and belongings on your lap, at your feet, or in front of you. This frees up space so more people can ride comfortably.
Keep doors clear
Line up to get on the bus and don’t crowd the doors. This helps everyone get on and off safely, especially riders who need extra help.
Move to the back
After you get on the bus, move to the back. This gives more people space to get on and keeps the bus moving.
Pay your fare
Use cash, PRESTO, or PRESTO contactless to pay your fare. Paying your fare keeps things fair and helps the bus run on time.
Share space
Give your seat to seniors, expectant parents, or riders with disabilities. A small act of kindness can make a big difference.
Exit through the back
Get on the bus through the front doors and get off through the back doors when you can. People who need extra help or retrieving their bike from the bike rack may exit through the front.
Riding the bus works best when everyone does their part. Let’s all be kind and respectful so every MiWay trip is safe and pleasant for all riders.
