Starting January, 1, 2026, MiWay youth, adult and senior fares will change.
The revised fees are part of the City’s budget and are in response to the increasing cost of operating transit, and to advance the strategic goal of Developing a Transit Oriented City.
The increase to the cash fare aims to encourage riders to transition to PRESTO. PRESTO is the easiest way to pay your fare in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA) and Ottawa area, including on MiWay, the TTC and GO Transit. This change also helps harmonize all cash fares paid on MiWay.
Seniors ages 65 and older can ride MiWay for free with a PRESTO card set to the senior fare type. Seniors can set the fare type on their card by visiting customer service outlet and showing proof of age. PRESTO cards that are not set to a specific fare type will be charged the $3.50 Adult PRESTO single fare.
Revised fares include:
| Fare type | Fare increase amount | New fare as of Jan. 1 |
| Adult cash fare | $0.25 | $4.50 |
| Senior cash fare | $3.50 | $4.50 |
| Youth cash fare | $0.25 | $4.50 |
