Service changes start on Monday, June 30

Route 31 Ogden will be revised to provide all-day, two-way service throughout the week between Long Branch GO Station and Dixie GO Station via Ogden Avenue and Dixie Outlet Mall. Bus stops inside the Dixie Outlet Mall terminal will be moved to a new bus bay on Dixie Road. In addition, summer school service will operate from July 2 to August 1 and multiple routes will have schedule adjustments to improve service reliability.

Route 31 Ogden extended to service Dixie GO Station

This route will be revised to provide service from Long Branch GO Station to Dixie GO Station and provide all-day, two-way service going northbound and southbound on Ogden Avenue. The route will continue to service Dixie Outlet Mall via the new bus bay on Dixie Road.

31 Ogden will operate at the following frequencies:

  • Weekday peak: every 20 minutes.
  • Weekday off-peak: every 30 minutes.
  • Saturday midday: every 30 minutes.
  • Sunday midday: every 30 minutes.

Route 5 Dixie routing at Dixie Outlet Mall

Routing on Route 5 Dixie will be streamlined to travel north and south on Dixie Road, no longer looping inside the Dixie Outlet Mall bus terminal. Route 5 north will service a new on-street stop at Dixie Road at Rometown Drive. Route 5 south will service a new stop within the on-street bus bay on Dixie Road (new Dixie Outlet Mall bus terminal).

Dixie Outlet Mall bus stops moved to Dixie Road

Due to congestion and accessibility issues, the bus stops inside the Dixie Outlet Mall bus terminal for Routes 4 North Service Road, 5 Dixie and 31 Ogden will be moved to a new on-street bus bay on Dixie Road.

This new bus bay (stops #0426 and #0461) on Dixie Road will accommodate multiple buses to better serve customers. This new bus bay will also allow for the installation of an enhanced shelter with amenities including benches and heating to offer a more comfortable commute.

Summer school service

Regular 300-series school routes will not operate during the summer; however, there will be three summer school routes that operate from July 2 to August 1.

Rick Hansen Secondary School

  • 356 Rick Hansen SS: 7:27 am northbound departure from City Centre Transit Terminal to arrive at the school for 7:45 am; 1:45 pm southbound departure from the school.

St. Joan of Arc

  • 373 St. Joan of Arc: 7:14 am northbound departure from South Common Centre to arrive at the school for 7:45 am; 1:44 pm southbound departure from the school.
  • 374 St. Joan of Arc: 7:25 am southbound departure from Meadowvale Town Centre to arrive at the school for 7:45 am; 1:45 pm northbound departure from the school.

Summer school routes are not required for the schools listed below as they are serviced by Routes 8 Cawthra and 36 Ridgeway. However, additional trips have been added to these two routes to align with the school bell times.

St. Paul Secondary School

  • 8 Cawthra: 7:18 am southbound departure from City Centre Transit Terminal to arrive at the school for 7:50 am; 1:40 pm northbound departure from the school.

Loyola Catholic Secondary School

  • 36 Ridgeway: 7:21 am northbound departure from South Common Centre to arrive at the school for 7:45 am; 1:44 pm southbound departure from the school.

Regular secondary school service will resume on Tuesday, September 2.

Routes 24 and 30 on temporary detour

Due to the closure of the Scarboro Street Bridge for construction, Routes 24 Northwest and 30 Rexdale will be on temporary detour until the work is finished. Both routes will continue along Airport Road to Scarboro Street and will not service bus stops on Hull Street and Scarboro Street, between Hull Street and York Street.

Schedule adjustments

Schedule adjustments will be made on the routes below to improve service reliability as traffic and ridership patterns continue to evolve throughout the city.

  • 4 North Service Road (weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays)
  • 13 Glen Erin (weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays)
  • 24 Northwest (weekdays)
  • 25 Traders Loop (weekdays)
  • 29 Park Royal (weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays)
  • 36 Ridgeway (weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays)
  • 45 Winston Churchill (weekdays)
  • 51 Tomken (weekdays and Saturdays)
  • 53 Kennedy (weekdays)
  • 57 Courtneypark (weekdays)
  • 74 Explorer (weekdays)
  • 90 Terragar-Copenhagen Loop (weekdays)

MiWay will make further schedule adjustments as needed to ensure that services remain responsive to customer needs.
