On Saturday, Aug. 19, MiWay will offer free transit for Canadian Armed Forces veterans and their companions in honour of their service.
Each year, MiWay offers free transit to those who have served in the Canadian military on the day of the Warriors’ Day Parade. Held annually since 1921, the Warriors’ Day Parade recognizes those who have served in the Canadian military and those who continue to serve.
Veterans are asked to identify themselves to the Transit Operator by wearing their uniform, showing a medal or their Veteran’s Service Card. A companion accompanying a veteran may also ride for free.
