COVID-19: latest updates on the City’s response and service impacts

The Government of Ontario announced further restrictions to the stay-at-home order, in effect as of Saturday, April 17. As a result, all outdoor recreational amenities, such as golf courses, basketball courts, soccer fields, and outdoor fitness equipment are closed.

Help for the homeless

See the services available to support at-risk individuals and the homeless in Mississauga, including free hot meals and shower access, and the Region of Peel Street Helpline.

Shower program

You can use the showers at the following Recreation locations in the city:

Resource and information centre

Mississauga Library’s Open Window Hub offers help to individuals and families who are experiencing homelessness or mental health issues.

A qualified social worker is on-site and happy to assist you at 905-615-3200 ext. 3541.

Hot meals

Hot grab-and-go meals are offered at the Open Window Hub now located at Civic Centre C Cafe on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday starting at 12 p.m.

Homelessness helpline

Whether you’re in need or worried about someone, call the Region of Peel Street Helpline at 1-877-848-8481. The helpline is available 24 hours a day to support the homeless.
