Call for Nominations: City of Mississauga Celebrates Outstanding Citizens

The City of Mississauga is accepting nominations for the Civic Award of Recognition Program.  Residents who have volunteered in the community for more than 10 years can be nominated. The City’s spring recognition evening will be hosted by Mayor Bonnie Crombie and Members of Council.

When:
Tuesday, June 2, 2015
Ceremony:   7 to 8 p.m.
Reception:   8 to 9 p.m.

Where:
Mississauga Civic Centre, 300 City Centre Drive
(Burnhamthorpe Rd. and Duke of York Blvd.)
The ceremony will be held in the Council Chamber.
The reception will follow in the Great Hall.

Why:
The City’s Civic Award of Recognition is part of an ongoing recognition program which honours residents annually since 1992.  Other awards in the program include the Certificate of Recognition, the Civic Award of Merit and Civic Award of Philanthropy.

Deadline for nomination submissions is Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at 4:30 p.m. Due to limited seating capacity, only the first 100 nominations received will be considered for this year’s event.
